How can I get a copy of the owner’s manual for my Kimber firearm?

How often should the recoil spring be replaced? What recoil spring is used?
Each pistol has its own recommended spring weight and replacement schedule.
Please refer to your manual for that specific information. They can be purchased directly through our online store.
What type of ammunition do you recommend for your handguns?
We recommend using quality American-made ammunition. Choose from trusted names like Federal, Winchester or Remington because ammunition by these makers has proven to be of consistent high quality. Our function testing is done with Federal 230 grain FMJ.
+P ammo manufactured to SAAMI specs is fine to use as a defensive round or for occasional range use only. Our pistols are rated to handle +P ammo. However, we do not recommend a steady diet of them, as they are rough on the pistol and will accelerate the wear on the gun and may shorten the life of the recoil spring.
The use of reloaded or remanufactured ammunition may be dangerous, and any issues related to its usage are not covered by warranty.
How many magazines are shipped with new Kimber pistols?
We ship one magazine with each pistol. You can purchase additional magazines from your local dealer or through our online store.
Why does the manual say not to drop the hammer with slide off the frame,or slam the slide shut on an empty chamber?
Doing any of the above mentioned things can result in damage to your pistol, perhaps rendering it unsafe to fire. Always read the manual and follow Kimber’s recommendations for optimal performance.
Can I dry-fire my pistol?
It is safe to dry-fire our centerfire pistols.
Can I purchase a gun directly from the factory?
No, Kimber Mfg., Inc. sells only through our dealer network or through federally licensed distributors. You can locate a nearby dealer by entering your zip code into our Dealer Locator.

Yes, your information is encrypted by industry standards. We take extra precautions to protect your privacy and security.
I ordered incorrect items; how can I return them for exchange or refund?
Please call our customer service at 888-243-4522 with the order number within 30 days of your purchase. A customer service representative will assist you.
Modified or damaged goods or those not in the original packaging cannot be accepted for exchange or refund.
I’d like to purchase a .22 Conversion Kit; which model is it compatible with? What ammo works best with it?
Our .22 Conversion Kit will fit on our Full Size 5 in. and Pro Sized 4 in. barreled .45 cal 1911s. We recommend using CCI Mini Mag ammo for best function and reliability. The kits will fit on most, but not all, 1911 models.
Can I purchase night sights for my Kimber or other pistol?
Yes, you can have night sights installed on your Kimber by the Custom Shop. Please call customer service at 888-243-4522 for details.
There are signs of wear on my frame, barrel or slide; is there cause for concern?
Finish wear is normal and to be expected anywhere materials come in contact with each other. You can see wear on the hood of your barrel as well as on the slide or frame rails. Be sure to keep your pistol clean and well lubricated to prevent excessive wear. Finish wear is not overed by warranty.
Can I order a firearm built to my specifications?
We are unable to accommodate requests to build individual firearms to customer specifications. You are welcome to send back any Kimber pistol for upgrades to Custom Shop features.
Do you have a Custom Shop for rifles? Do you make left-handed rifles?
